I'm Christina Mascarenas. I am a 5th-generation Coloradan. My family has called Colorado home for more than 140 years. I was born and raised in Pueblo. I am Catholic and a conservative candidate, a proud Rush Baby and the daughter of a retired steel mill worker.
I earned a master’s degree in journalism from MIZZOU - the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in leadership in student affairs from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
I also earned a bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University-Pueblo, and an associate degree from Pueblo Community College.
I have worked as a public affairs specialist at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, and the Dept. of Agriculture. My communication experience also includes working as a public relations assistant, copy writer, and editor for a company that provided science support to Legislators in Missouri and as a Legislative Aide in Colorado.
In higher education, I was a program coordinator for TRIO, Upward Bound, which is a grant funded program. I was responsible for advising up to 91 low-income, first-generation students, along with teaching them professional development workshops.
I have been an entrepreneur and business owner. I created a photography studio that served clients from Pueblo and Colorado Springs for eight years. I know first-hand how hard it is to maintain a small business, and how important small businesses are to the Pueblo community.
Together, let's make positive changes for Pueblo County and all of Colorado.
