House Judiciary Testimony

(Tuesday, April 2, 2024)
I traveled to the State Capitol to testify against HB24-1372 Regulating Law Enforcement Use of Prone Restraint. As a victim of crime, I felt it was important to testify against this horrible bill - my testimony was against the bill as written that states police officers cannot handcuff a suspect while lying on the ground. A few amendments did pass, so I'm not sure how the amendments will affect the final bill.

The bill did pass 8-3 with the majority anti-law enforcement caucus. My verbal testimony starts at 4:14:05 or read my testimony on my campaign Facebook page.

Republican Christina Mascarenas qualifies for June Primary ballot in Colorado’s House District 46

PUEBLO, CO - Pueblo native, Christina Mascarenas, received 59% of the delegates vote to secure the top line status on the ballot for the June 25 primary.

Republican delegates throughout the county gathered at Pueblo’s East High School on March 19, 2024, for the Pueblo County Assembly. They selected candidates to run against Democrat opponents in the November election. House District 46 is the only Pueblo County race to have a primary.

“I am honored to have so much support from my fellow Puebloans. I will continue to work hard to earn their vote in June and then again in November to be the common-sense leadership our district and community deserves,” she said.

Christina plans to meet and visit with House District 46 residents to listen to their concerns regarding Pueblo County. Her platform consists of making Pueblo safer by lowering crime and homelessness, economic development, being an advocate for small businesses, and protecting Pueblo jobs.

Thank you, Ryan Schuiling, for inviting me to speak about my HD46 campaign on Friday, March 15.

"Christina joins Ryan (in for Ross) to discuss her candidacy for Colorado state House District 46, along with the Republican renaissance happening in Pueblo with the election of a GOP mayor (Heather Graham) and the first GOP county commissioner (Zach Swearingen) in 25 years."
